Isopropyl alcohol can be used to make hand sanitizer. 99.9% IPA should be diluted with purified water to achieve a solution of no less than 70% IPA to be an effective sanitizer.

Isopropyl alcohol dissolves a wide range of compounds and is ideal for cleaning trays, reservoirs or scissors. It also evaporates quickly, leaves nearly zero oil traces, and is relatively non-toxic, compared to alternative solvents, for example butane. It is used widely as a solvent, especially for dissolving oils and natural resins. Isopropyl alcohol can be used to extract essential oil from plant material as well as makes an excellent cleaning agent for removing tough resins from equipment and surfaces. 99.9% Isopropyl alcohol has the fastest evaporation time, making it an excellent reagent for extracting essential oils.
