Red milo is a little more expensive than most of the other options you might find out there, but after using just about every type of grain over the last several years we have discovered there's no point in using or selling anything else. As any successful commercial mushroom grower will tell you, it all starts with the grain; if you don't have great grain to colonize, every other step will be compromised.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe use Unicorn-brand 10T bags for their durability, size and ease of use. They include a self-healing injection port and a 0.2 micron filter patch to allow for contaminate-free inoculation and proper air exchange.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe clean our grains thoroughly and soak them for 16-24 hours before being boiled. They're then drained and set on racks to air dry. The grains are measured out into 3 pound bags and pressure sterilized before being sealed and shipped to you.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo ensure sterility we monitor bag temperatures from start to finish every run and ensure sterilization temperatures are achieved with every batch.
