The same thing happens when you spray nutrients and pesticides on your plants. In some cases, the water droplets will actually cling to the leaf surface, but not spread out over it. This is bad for two reasons. First, you have a concentrated dot of food or pesticide on the leaf, which can cause damage as the droplet dries out.
