American Extracts

American Extracts is dedicated to providing products that increase the growth and yield of plants, turf, food crops, and trees; decreasing the environmental problems surrounding waste water management; and increasing a healthy environment for commercial livestock.

American Extracts has 54 years of combined experience in the yucca business and has become the largest United States supplier of pure yucca extracts and dried yucca powders. American Extracts is a family operated business and is located in the beautiful Central San Joaquin Valley of California. American Extracts’ products are made from fresh, cold-pressed cellular extracts at any concentration from ten to seventy percent total water-soluble solids. American Extracts also sells dried yucca fiber, milled to a fine meal, containing fifteen to thirty percent total water-soluble solids and yucca powder. All of the products are processed at low temperatures, guaranteeing all the ingredients of the yucca to be active and intact just as they were created in the yucca cells.

  • Therm X-70 Natural Wetting Agent - 4 ounce

Anytime you spray anything on your plants - foliar feeds or pesticides - you should ALWAYS use a quality wetting agent, ESPECIALLY with Neem Oil products (including Azamaz/Azatrol). Wetting agents, also known as sticker-spreaders or surfactants, make "water wetter". Consider the fact that a plant leaf has a waxy coating, not unlike the surface of a freshly waxed car. What happens when you spray water on a freshly waxed car? The water forms into beads and rolls right off the car, of course! The same thing happens when you spray nutrients and pesticides on your plants. In some cases, the water droplets will actually cling to the leaf surface, but not spread out over it. This is bad for two reasons. First, you have a concentrated dot of food or pesticide on the leaf, which can cause damage as the droplet dries out. Second, instead of spreading out over the leaf surface and covering more area (thus killing more pests or increasing the nutrient absorption in foliar feeeds) the droplet just sits there, covering only a small portion of the leaf.

Using pesticides and foliar feeds without a wetting agent is almost like using them at half their normal strength because in many cases, the product you are applying will only work half as good as it would if you had added a wetting agent. And don't just take it from us - every commercial nursery and farm, edible, ornamental or otherwise, uses wetting agents every time they spray. And for good reason!

We've tried many wetting agents over the years, even standard dish soap (hey, everyone wants to save a buck, right?) and found Therm X-70 to be hands-down the best product. Not only is it the best wetting agent, it's also 100% organic (OMRI Listed), it's beneficial to the plant, and it's a great value comparted to other wetting agents on the market - it's a no-brainer!
