Are you having problems with seeds not germinating or clones dying before they root? Do you think your plants may be suffering from root rot? If so, you should really consider using Oxy Blast! Oxy Blast! is a concentrated food grade Hydrogen Peroxide-based product. It safely and effectively sterilizes the growing medium, root zone and nutrient solution, killing most bacteria, including pythium, rhizoctonia and phytophthora, the three most common fungi-causing root rot in plants. Oxy Blast! should be added to the reservoir every week as a preventative, or as often as every day if you suspect a bacteria problem. Oxy Blast! quickly reverts back into oxygen and water, giving plants the added benefit of increased oxygen levels.
Oxy Blast! should be added at the rate of 1 teaspoon per 10 gallons of water or nutrient solution. This will maintain a reasonably constant level of around 30 ppm peroxide (H2O2). For sterilization of trays, plumbing, etc. in between crops, use Oxy Blast! at a rate of 1 teaspoon per gallon. This will give you 300 ppm of H2O2 and kill all bacteria the solution comes in contact with. BUT, DO NOT water plants with the 300 ppm solution!
For increased accuracy, use Oxy Blast! Test Strips. These will tell you exactly how many ppm of H2O2 is in your water and enable you figure out exactly how much Oxy Blast! to add to your solution in order to acheive 30 ppm.
